Effective Email Marketing Campaigns

I’m sure we have all heard this a million times, but it’s really true . . . “Consistency is key.”

Now, that’s probably also the hardest part. Realtors are often pulled in so many directions that it’s hard to keep up with everything, including sending out email marketing campaigns or sticking to a regular marketing routine of any kind. We often find ourselves playing whack-a-mole or doing things in “popcorn” fashion with a little bit here, a little bit there, and a little bit everywhere else. It’s A LOT. Believe me, I know! As a realtor, we all have these struggles. So, how do you keep up?

Here are a few tips that I have learned recently, that I would like to share:

  1. Try to automate things as much as you can! If you can use a program that allows you to set things up & forget about them, or even schedule emails or posts in advance, that will help so much!
  2. Consider investing in a good CRM. Yes, Excel or other tools can be helpful for keeping track of contacts/facts/birthdays for our clients, but, after a while, there is simply too much to keep track of by hand. There are several free tools you can find online to extract your contacts from your email or social media platforms and import them into your CRM.
  3. Just because you have an email drip campaign running in the background, it isn’t a replacement for personal reach outs. Don’t forget to still make those personal touches with a call, text, or in-person visit to a client to congratulate them on a new baby, a house anniversary, or other important milestone. That way, they’ll remember that you’re a real person & not just someone who they see emails from a few times a year!
  4. How much do we all like a surprise? Think about sending emails or dropping by to see a client on occasions that are random as well–not just the obvious holidays! Everyone is spamming their clients around the holidays! Why don’t you contact yours on a holiday that no one has ever heard of or to give them a gift that might be helpful for spring like some weed repellant or seeds for the garden! Anything that might be a little bit out of the ordinary can set you apart from your competitors.

It’s not always about how flashy your marketing campaigns are or how much money you spend, sometimes it’s really “the thought that counts.” By putting a little bit more thought into your overall marketing strategy, including your email marketing strategy, you can be the one that stands out and shows clients that you’re willing to put in the extra effort!
